Got the green light from Blizzard. Mod will continue as 'Starcraft Universe'
Thankyou for everyones support and I will try to get int contact with the people who have contacted me to help out with the project in a timely manner.

Yeah baby. My sister has a friend who's husband works at Blizzard down in Irvine, CA. I'll shoot him this thread.

i played SC2 Beta, it was like playing SC1 with a lil better graphics.

if this was pushed through or allowed by blizzard no to be ripped from the clutches of ryan i would highly consider buying StarCraft 2 just to play World Of Starcraft.

I really hope they support this! There are plenty of other mods that are aspiring to great things as well, and so far i haven't heard of blizzard getting in the way. this project certainly takes the cake, but it's still all within SC2, made by a guy who obviously has respect for Starcraft canon. but even if it didn't adhere to official storylines, who cares? it's a hobby project by SC fans!

Great work here! i'm sure Blizzard won't do anything negative. On the other hand there's a growing following of this mod now! Here's a re-post of what PCGamer posted on their news feed.

Also important to remember is that there was a World of Warcraft game made in Warcraft III, though obviously not as well done. If the only problem would be the name that should dispel that fear.

Really hope this becomes a reality. I'm getting goose bumps just imagining this game. I hope Blizzard doesn't screw things up.

Thanks Nelson for spreading the word, but Activision is already trying to put the kabosh on the whole thing. The video link is down and removed from youtube. :/

Guess I'll go back to my charcoal drawings now....

They didn't come to me directly but Activision went to Youtube and put the kabosh on the video.

Not to be the Debbie Downer of this whole thread, but it was pretty obvious that they would not let you make this game man. If they did, they would be giving up their right to produce their version and its extremely impossible for Blizzard to let an indie produce a game like this. Heck, they're probably already starting on it with millions of dollars in development money invested.

I still applaud your effort. The demo trailer you made was nothing short of amazing to look at. You should at least be proud that you were able to produce something like that.

Don't give up on your work Ryan, get into contact with Blizzard and see if you can go ahead with the map. Just like, change the name or something.
