Age: 25 Position applying for: lore writer (admit it your going to want someone who can write the story for your missions)
I'll be frank, I've ZERO professional experience writing sci-fi, but I am very well versed in the lore of starcraft and I've played starcraft 1/2 more then most people should consider healthy.
send me an PM on here or an e-mail if you want me to make a sample for you.
I also have played more then my fair share of world of warcraft so I can guess how you want the story to structure out.

Ya know, I've always wanted to write something like this. I have an excellent grasp on the English language and can guarantee perfect sentence structure, spelling, story development, and so on.
I'm 20 years old, taking part-time classes toward a computer science/programming degree while working almost full-time as a computer tech. I live near the east coast of the U.S.A.
Not to jack your thread, Shyataroo, but maybe it wouldn't be too rude to ask that my name be added to this list. I probably have less experience with SC2 than you do, but I certainly know enough about StarCraft 1 to be able to come up with some good stories from the Koprulu sector.

Don't you hate "If you ____ then copy+paste this into your signature" sigs? If so, copy+paste this into your signature. Also: http://nerfnow.com/comic/209 |

It would be nice to see some depth and story put into this project and just random battles with no purpose.

I'd like to join this fine team here, if you would have me =)
Age: 25* Location: Sweden Applying for position: Dialogue writer, Lore writer, various texts writer and editor
My past experiences include writing for the Streams series of books, authored by Eva Alderborn. The particular chapter I helped out with was the Fantasy one, where I got to write a short story in a fantasy setting. I've also studied under this author for two years.
Currently I'm reading a year-long course called Literary Storytelling here in Sweden, while I'm writing and designing a fictional world in my own time.
I have no real experiences working on lore texts - NPC dialogue would probably be the kind of writing that's the most up my alley. Though I'm really up for trying anything! ^^
It might be of note that my experiences with the StarCraft universe are limited to what I've played in the games and read in their manuals. I have not read any of the books as of this time - better be up front about my limitations in the field than pretend I'm perfect for the job, no? =)
* Somehow I managed to misclick my birth year as 1986 during registration instead of 1985. I feel so silly x)

As an example of a mission introduction (if we are going to be using the WoW style missions of grab, or kill.
This assumes you are a marine.
"whooooooo wee they got you wearing the old P-X379J Armor? the acutaors on that thing are so old its a wonder you can even move in that thing" you look at the engineer who is talking to you like he is speaking absolute madness you're not quite sure if he is insulting you or if he is really tying to help so you hold up your gun to his forehead "whoa whoa easy dude don't pull that trigger just calm down." After lowering the gun from his forhead but still pointing it at him not wanting to let your guard down he says "alright, well looks like we need each other, you need an armor upgrade for that piece of garbage that your wearing and I need to live so, I'll tell ya what get some loose minerals and some vespene gas over yonder and I'll upgrade your armor so you can move a bit better, its not as good as a whole new suit but it'll get the job done...oh yeah one more thing...watch out for zerglings they've been sighted nearby."

here is a first hand account of the protoss assault on Char Sara from the point of view of someone on the planet managing to leave just in the nick of time.
"the first thing I remember about that day was the sky, it was beautiful day almost as if the world itself knew of its fate..I remember hearing rumors of some sort of xenomorph attack on Los Anaderas but nothing real substantial. then...they came... the sky darkened across the planet as the ships...these gigantic ships came out of nowhere and those beams those terrible terrible beams shone brighter then the sun the beams came and purified the planet I lost friends, neighbors and everyone I ever knew. I was lucky enough to have been on one of the drop ships that made it off-planet although I technically survived, the person who I was died that day. those mouthless bastards will pay with their blood for what they did to char sara for what they did to me.
